Rotary swaging is a processing method for cold forming, which compresses the cross-section of bar and pipe, and process around the workpiece diameter in the whole or partly by using two or more dies.
These die rotary around workpiece and exert radial force to its center.
Relative to other processing, rotary swaging has its own special advantages, which mainly as following:
1. Material savings
Rotary swaging process is free of debris, the volume of raw materials and the final part is equal.
This not only saves material, but also eliminates the waste disposal.
2. Light weight
Instead of original manufactured by solid material, pipe material production not only saves
materials, but also reduces the weight of the workpiece.
3. Work hardening
Rotary swaging makes hardness of the workpiece increase uniformly along the entire cross section,and organizational structure continuous, so which makes the allowed load increase or use the lower hardening material saving the cost.
4. High surface quality and tolerances
The workpiece can be molded to the final size or close to a final size required, so in many cases,can not be processed.
5. Cavity forming
